Sewing a Pleated Mid-Length Skirt (BSMS) Session 1

Featuring the fabulous Decades of Style "Chore Skirt" Pattern.

You will learn how to; layout a pattern, cut your skirt, sew the seams and waist casing, insert elastic or insert a zipper and hem your skirt.

Class time: 2 - 3 hour sessions. You may mix and match the sessions to suit your schedule between the four sessions offered  on Saturday and Sunday.            

Maximum class size: 10 people

Supplies needed: Upper Skirt 2 5/8 yards (45"wide fabric) 1 7/8 yards (60" wide fabric) Lower Band 1 5/8" yards (45" wide fabric) *piecing is required when using this width fabric for a size 14 pattern and above. 1 1/4 yards (60" wide fabric) Fusible Interfacing 1 3/8 yards, 12" zipper, 2 hooks and eyes and matching threads. 

cotton or cotton blend fabric NO KNITS, matching thread and a basic sewing kit of shears, seam ripper, pins and chalk. All other materials provided.

Prerequisites: Introduction to the Sewing Machine or basic sewing skills
