Festive Velvet Holly taught by Arlene Baker

In this workshop you can make traditional boughs of holly to “deck the halls” or create a stunning pin with one elegant sprig embellished with shimmering beads and sparkling crystals…fa, la, la, la, la!

Luxurious silk and rayon velvet, sized and laminated to silk organza, is heated to form between leaf molds #20. The impressions are cut, trimmed and wired. Glass berries and stems wrapped with tissue-like paper finish the traditional holly “bough” while French beaded ferns, crystal rhinestone baby’s breath and rhinestone ball “berries” add an unexpected element of luxury to the pin or millinery decoration.
