Old English Garden Cabbage Rose

Old English Garden Cabbage Rose taught by Arlene Baker

It's no secret that most of us love roses. The heady fragrance, velvety petals and glorious colors bring back remembrances of special occasions and sweet romance. So it should come as no surprise that this lush and elegant velvet rose pin is going to be a favorite right from the start.

Eleven silk and rayon velvet petals are hand-stitched and wired around the edges. A cluster of delicate stamens in the center of the flower and a stem wrapped with matching machine-stitched velvet bias tubing add vintage-style embellishments similar to those found on millinery flowers from the 1930s. Flower measures about 6" diameter but Arlene will show you how to reduce the overall size in class, if desired.
